Please read carefully this letter from longtime John Woolman College contact Bro. Pruitt . I think it is pretty eloquent.

Greetings,

Favorable actions have come as a result of all the work that has been done by all the Reparations Advocates across the country. I would like to take the time to thank all the individuals and groups involved who have worked diligently to bring this course of action to fruition. The most notable of these occurrences are the resolutions that are being passed in government capacities all across America. In terms of legal premise we know folks who have studied the issue of Reparations for an extended period of time realize that the apology is the forerunner to actually awarding African-American Reparations.

Now it is our job to be sure that we have a plan in place that will enable Blacks to repair the damage that has been done by slavery and all the other crimes that Blacks have endured that prevented them from having social and economic parity! We should focus on how and why other groups have won Reparations and what it will take to win Black Reparations to undo the overwhelming damage that African-Americans have encountered by losing their spiritual foundation, cultural identity and wealth they produced during slavery. If African-Americans had these three variables in place they would build communities and institutions to serve their needs for housing, health care, employment and family structure.

There are many more serious issues that African-Americans must address if they are going to mend the psychological torment of knowing they were slaves and lost so much yet never had a chance to release that tension and look forward to racial healing and the potential growth process. Let's not forget that opponents of Reparations do have Blacks in place who are to cause confusion and dissatisfaction among Reparations Advocates, so let's remember the work that our elders and forefathers have put together for us to win Black Reparations and understand that learning about Reparations in the broad sense of improving Integration, creating Repatriation and establishing Sovereignty will diminish and erase efforts of those who do not have the best interest of African-Americans in mind.

The bottom line is that if other groups have received Reparations for damages that were far less severe and took place over a much shorter period of time that Blacks certainly deserve Reparations for their pain and suffering incurred in slavery, segregation, discrimination and institutional racism! We should thank Don Imus for bringing the issue of race to the forefront of American dialogue and take this opportunity to demand African-American Reparations Now!
